Terms of Use
Last updated: July 22, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Cents, a personal and family financial organization tool available at cents.gbinder.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.
1. Definitions
"We", "our", or "operator" refer to the person or company responsible for operating Cents. "You" or "user" refers to anyone who creates an account or uses the Service. An "environment" is the isolated data space of a family or group of users within Cents — each environment has its own transactions, accounts, cards, and other data, with no cross-visibility between environments. An "account" is an individual user's access to an environment, identified by email and password.
2. Nature of the Service — a tool, not an advisor
Cents is software for organizing and visualizing personal and family finances: it logs transactions, calculates balances, projects month-end closings, generates reports, and helps you track accounts, cards, goals, investments, and net worth. Cents does NOT provide financial, accounting, legal, tax, or investment advice, and nothing in the Service should be interpreted as a recommendation, suggestion, or guarantee of any outcome. Any decision made based on information from the Service is your sole responsibility.
- Reports and projections are automatic calculations based on the data you enter yourself — they are not professional analyses or guaranteed forecasts.
- Investment and asset appreciation/depreciation simulators are illustrative estimates, not recommendations to buy, sell, or hold any asset.
- We are not a financial institution, brokerage, bank, or investment advisory firm — we do not custody, move, or intermediate your money.
- For significant decisions, consult a qualified professional (accountant, attorney, or certified financial planner).
- Artificial intelligence features (capture from photos or text, chat, analyses, category suggestions, summaries, and automatic alerts) are generated by statistical models and MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, inaccuracies, or omissions. Every AI output is a suggestion for you to verify: nothing is saved without your confirmation, and by accepting or acting on an AI suggestion you declare that you have validated it and take full responsibility for the decision. Cents's AI does not constitute financial, accounting, legal, tax, or investment advice.
3. Registration, Eligibility, and Account Security
To use Cents you represent that you have full legal capacity (or, if a minor, that you are duly represented or assisted as required by law) and that you will provide true, complete, and up-to-date information when signing up — name, email, phone number, identification document, and any other requested data. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account; notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use. Each person should keep a single account; accounts can be shared within the same family environment by the administrator's invitation, with permissions the administrator configures.
4. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation
Cents offers a Free plan with limited features and paid plans with full features, billed as a recurring subscription processed by our payment partner, Asaas. Every new signup starts with a 14 (fourteen) day free trial of the full Family plan, no credit card required; if you do not subscribe to a paid plan by the end of the trial, your account keeps working normally on the Free plan, at no charge and with no data loss. Paid plans renew automatically each billing cycle (monthly or annual) until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, in a single tap, from the subscription screen — cancellation takes effect at the end of the already-paid cycle, with no pro-rated refund for the unused period, except where required by law.
- A failed recurring payment may temporarily suspend paid features until resolved, with a grace period before downgrading to the Free plan.
- Prices, currencies, and terms for each plan are shown on the subscription screen before purchase and may change going forward, without affecting already-paid cycles.
- Any statutory right of withdrawal within 7 (seven) days of the first purchase, where applicable under consumer-protection law, applies normally to purchases made outside a physical establishment.
- Prices may vary by country or region and may be displayed and charged in different currencies, based on the location detected when you access the Service, the country where the environment was registered, and the country of your payment method. Local taxes may apply. Billing may be processed by different payment partners depending on the country (for example, Asaas in Brazil), and fraud-prevention mechanisms may re-validate your region before purchase.
5. Acceptable Use
When using Cents, you agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, or in a way that violates third-party rights.
- Attempt to access, without authorization, other users' data, accounts, or environments, or exploit security vulnerabilities.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, copy, or attempt to extract the source code or logic of the Service.
- Automate use of the Service (bots, scraping, mass calls) in a way that overloads or harms its availability to other users.
- Resell, sublicense, or make the Service available to third parties without our express authorization.
- Enter false data with the intent to defraud third parties, such as fabricated proof-of-income documents for use outside the Service.
- Violating this section may lead to suspension or termination of your account, as described in Section 11.
6. Third-Party Integrations and Services
Cents may integrate with third-party services, such as importing bank statements in OFX/CSV format that you provide, and processing payments through Asaas. We have no control over the accuracy of files you import, nor over the availability, terms, or policies of those third parties. Errors in reading, formatting, or reconciling imported files are the responsibility of whoever generated them (your bank) and whoever imported them (you); always review reconciled transactions before making decisions based on them.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including — but not limited to — warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, calculation accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do our best to keep the Service running and calculations correct, but we do not guarantee freedom from interruptions, delays, or failures, nor that reports, projections, and simulators will be free of inaccuracies — especially when caused by incomplete or incorrect data you entered.
- The Service's calculations, balances, reports, projections, and simulations are produced from the data that you (and the other users in your environment) enter. Incomplete, duplicated, or incorrect data produces incorrect results — double-check the numbers before using them in any decision.
- Found an odd number or something behaving incorrectly? Report it through the contact channel at the end of this page or through the app's support channels — confirmed errors are fixed with priority, within a reasonable time. A report does not, by itself, create liability beyond what is set out in section 8.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of Cents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, or data loss arising from use or inability to use the Service, including, without limitation:
- Financial, accounting, legal, or investment decisions made based on information from the Service.
- Temporary unavailability, interruptions, slowness, or loss of access to the Service.
- Errors, delays, or inconsistencies in third-party data (banks, statements, Asaas) that you use within the Service.
- Errors in importing or reconciling statements (OFX/CSV) that you provide.
- Losses arising from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to protect your password.
- In any case, the operator's total liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 (twelve) months before the event giving rise to the claim, except where applicable law prohibits such a limitation.
- Content, suggestions, classifications, analyses, or alerts generated by artificial intelligence, and decisions made based on them without the validation described in section 2.
9. Intellectual Property
The software, design, trademarks, logos, and all content of Cents — excluding your data — belong to the operator or its licensors, protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service under these Terms while your account is active. The financial data you enter — transactions, balances, goals, attached documents, and other information in your environment — is yours; we only process and store it to provide you the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Privacy
The collection, use, sharing, and retention of your personal data are described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. By using the Service, you also agree to the data handling described there.
11. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, in case of a breach of these Terms, fraudulent or unlawful use, or as required by law, with notice when possible. You can close your own account at any time in Profile, and an environment administrator can request closure of the entire family environment in Settings — the effects of each action, including data retention and deletion timeframes, are described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms at any time to reflect changes in the Service, the law, or our practices. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice within the Service itself, with reasonable advance notice, updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
13. General Provisions
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of the operator's domicile are chosen to settle disputes arising from these Terms, except for the consumer's domicile forum where required by law. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Tolerance of a breach of any clause does not waive the right to enforce it later.
